Tesco’s Submit Planning Application on Former Pub
Tesco’s have submitted a new planning application for the former Essex Arms Pub using the following description:
‘A mixed use re-development. Construction of four storey building to provide a retail store (approx 436sqm) use class A1 at ground floor and 17 residential units on upper floors. Provision of cycle and car parking.’
The application will be heard by the Planning Committee starting at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 2nd February. Full details of the application can be found by clicking here.
If residents wish to speak either for or against this application at the Planning Committee they need to register their interest by calling 020 8496 6726. Speakers are limited to three people per application and each will have three minutes to get their point across to the committee.

This site has been allowed to rot for two years. The area is in desperate need of regeneration and a new supermarket would play an enormously important role in that process. The residents should not be expected to put up with this rotting, derelict site for a moment longer, and it is vital that this application be approved next week so that work can begin without further delay.
Its not a “new” application, it went in 2 and a half months ago… you should keep an eye on the BAG site for local news
Good to publicise the the committee meeting though
Neil - it is a new application after the first one was refused at a very early stage. The point of the article as you quite rightly noted is to advise people of the application being put before the planning committee for decision. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
